| My Home Page | This guide tells you how to increase your neopoints and feed your pets during those first difficult weeks when you have only a few neopoints and pets who whine about being hungry. It also tells you ways you can begin to become rich, or maybe even an neopets millionaire. Depends how much time you spend on neopets. :) So, you've just started playing Neopets, and you have only the neopoints that you get when you create your first pet. How do you feed your pet cheaply? And how do you increase your neopoints? There is a Soup Kitchen run by the Soup Fairy, so long as you have less than 2000 neopoints you can get free food there. You can get free omelette for your pets once every day from Tyrannia. There are many different flavours, including the yucky rotten omelette. You can get free Jelly once every day from the giant Jelly in Jelly World. Jelly World is one of the secret locations in Neopia, there are no links to it on Neopets Site. When you first start playing neopets the main way to make neopoints will be playing games. There are lots of different games on the site, all of the flash games let you play them for neopoints a maximum of three times a day for each game. Some games give you more neopoints than others, go here for info about which games give you the most neopoints for least amount of effort, time or skill. There are two free games you can play once each day which reward you with neopoints or prizes. You should play these games every day if you can, they only take a couple of minutes. You can sell prizes for neopoints if you open a shop. The first game is Free Fruit Machine, this rewards you with neopoints for winning. The second game is The Tombola, if you draw a winning ticket you win a prize. Some of the prizes are things like codestones or bottled faeries which are worth about 4000 neopoints. You also get booby prizes, and sometimes the tombola man feels sorry for you and gives you some neopoints. You can also make neopoints by opening a shop, it costs 150 neopoints to open a shop. Once you have a shop you can use it to sell things you don't want. Go here for more info about how to make neopoints buying and selling things. You can make lots of neopoints by trading stocks on the Neopian Stock Market, this is the main way I make my neopoints. But, you do need at least 100,000 neopoints before it is really worth doing, also it can be risky investing in stocks when you dont have many neopoints. Go here for more info about making neopoints on the stock market. Games on Neopets are in three sections, Puzzle games, Action games and games of Luck. Every day there is a Featured Game, which gives double neopoints, it's nearly always worth playing this. Neopets also have Sponsor games on their site, these are mostly not very good. But they are a good way to earn neopoints, since they often pay well and are quite easy. Sponsor games often dont stay on site for long, so it isnt really worth telling you the names of them here. Most of the games which give the best rewards for the least amount of time are Action Games, so we'll start with that section first. :) Dubloon Disaster You can make about 150 neopoints or more in about five minutes on this game, and it's fun. It's also quite easy to play once you get used to it. Some tricks I have learned are these, if you can get the mines to bump into each other they will both explode. Best way to do this is by getting the mines to follow you untill two or more are close together, then row away from both of them. They should keep getting closer and closer together untill Boom. :) Also watch out for the whirlpools which occur randomly, as soon as you see a whirlpool forming row in the opposite direction. Basically press on a key which takes you away from the whirlpool and dont let go untill the whirlpool is gone. Extreme Herder This game is fun to play, and not that hard to start with. It gets much harder on the later levels. It takes a bit more time to play this game, but you can earn 400 or more neopoints in about fifteen minutes of playing. Extreme Potatoe Counter A really rubbish game imo, but even for very low scores it gives lots of neopoints. So if you need neopoints badly it's worth spending five minutes playing this. And the music is kinda groovy if ya like that kind of thing. ;) Hassee Bounce A new game, and one I really like even if I am a bit crap at it. ;) Spend five or ten mins playing this game and even if you only get low scores, like me, you should earn at least 400 neopoints. If you have time and patience keep playing untill you get a game with some high value fruits before sending your score.Meerca Chase A great game, and you can earn lots of neopoints fast on this game if you play in medium or fast modes. Trouble At The National Neopian Another new game, it starts off easy and then gets fiendishly hard. If you do ok on the easy levels you can earn good amounts of neopoints quite fast. Turmac Roll A great fun game, which isnt that hard. Spend ten or fifteen mins playing this and you should come away with about 800 neopoints at least. Play on hard level to earn most neopoints. If you have time to spare, keep on playing untill you get lots of the most valuable berries before sending your score. Ultimate Bullseye This is one of my favourite games for earning lots of neopoints fast. Even if you are not very good at it, you should still earn 150 neopoints or more for each game, pretty good for five or ten mins. Whack A Kass A new game, which is fun, just whack the Kass plushie and see how far it goes. You should be able to earn at least 400 neopoints each whack with this game. To do this you need to be playing on the hard level, you have to unlock this level by hitting Kass far enough. To make Kass go further, watch the wind speeds and only whack him if wind speed is 8 or 9. As he flies up into the sky hold your mousebutton or space bar down, as he starts to level off let go. This makes his wings flap which makes him stay in sky longer. When he lands hold your mouse button or press space as he bounces up into the air, this makes him bounce higher. DeckswabberTakes quite a while to play, but gives fairly good rewards if you do well. Faerie Crossword Pink poogle toy publishes the answers to this every day, and if you complete it within the time limit you earn 600 neopoints. Meepit Juice Break This game is fun, addictive and pays well, what more could you want. :) I normally earn at least 300 or 400 neopoints for each five minutes or ten minutes I play this. Plushie Tycoon Each game of this lasts for a month, and to do well you need to give it alot of time. But, the prizes for doing well range from 25,000 neopoints to 100,000 neopoints. I have played it for two weeks out of a month and earned 25,000 neopoints. I will be making a guide to playing Plushie Tycoon which will tell you how to earn neopoints playing it, and help you to make 50,000 or 100,000 neopoints a month. The guide will be on this site within one or two months. The Castle of Eliv Thade If you win this game on hard level you earn 1000 neopoints, to win you need to solve anagrams. Use one of the anagram solving sites online to help you with the answers. A good site is Andy's Anagram Solver but there are other sites too. Dice A Roo It's not worth playing this game for neopoints, but you can win food on it which you can sell. And it only costs 5 neopoints each game. GormballA good fun way to win prizes you can sell and neopoints, espeicially if you are normally useless at most games. You can get very rich indeed by buying and reselling things, espeicially if you have a fast internet connection. But it is quite time consuming and you will need to work hard at it. Even without a fast net connection you can still make neopoints by selling unwanted prizes etc. It costs 150 neopoints to open a shop. If you want to upgrade your shop so it can hold more items then you have to pay. This can cost alot if you start needing a big shop, but is worth it if you are buying and selling alot. Don't upgrade untill you can really afford it. The shops in Neopia Central and the other lands of Neopia sell many different things, some of them are rare or uncommon and are worth much more than they cost in the Neopets shops. Other items are very overpriced and worth far less than you pay for them. If you want to get rich you need to know what to buy to make a profit. To know this you need to do some research, it's no good me listing what to buy here. I dont have the time, and even if I did have time it would be out of date within a couple of months or so. Choose one or two shops, and wait in them untill they restock with stuff for sale. All restocks are now random, the shops do not restock every eight minutes any more. Then make notes of the prices they are charging, if you click on the shop keeper the screen refreshes. Try doing this a few time, and notice those things which sell very fast, they are normally the rare items and worth more than the shop is charging. You will make the biggest profits if you can buy these items, unfortunately there are many other people who will also be trying desperately to get them. You can still make profits buying some of the less rare items, though profits will be smaller it all helps on your road to riches. Good choices of shops to research are the Chocolate Shop in Neopia Central, The Furniture Shop in Neopia Central, The Food Shop in Neopia Central and The Magic Shop in Neopia Central. The Food shops sells Neggs, if you see any grab them, you will make a profit on them. Once you know the prices that the Neopets shops charge for items you need to find out what they are worth in the shops owned by other users. To do this go to the shopping wizard, type in the name of the thing you are looking for and see what it is worth. A good hint when doing this is to refresh the page with the prices on at least three or four times, so that you get a more accurate idea of what items are worth. Then start to make a list of things which you can make a profit on. Now to the actual buying of items, if you have a good memory and can remember what itmes to buy this will help alot. If you keep having to refer to lists then you will probably miss out on alot of the really good stuff. As I said before to stand a chance of getting the very rare items you will need a very fast net connection, but you can still do well with a less fast connection. When you click on something you want to buy you are taken to a screen where you can haggle for the item, waste too much time on this and the shop will be sold out. Offer between 10% and 20% less than the shopkeeper is asking and he should accept your offer, type really fast and hit enter. There are other ways to make neopoints buying and selling, if you check the shopping wizard everyday for items you can sometimes get lucky and see someone selling something for far less than it is really worth. Some people make alot of their neopoints doing this, since you dont need quite such a fast connection. You'll still need to be quick though. All of the shops in Neopia Central have a half price day on the third of every month. This is when everything they sell is half price, this might sound great but you still need to know what to buy cos even at half price some stuff still won't make a profit. Buy the wrong items and you could end up making a loss. There are alot more bargains on half price day but still do research before and know what you want to buy. Go to the Igloo Garage Sale on the top of Terror Mountain and you can often buy things at very cheap prices. Some of the stuff they sell is very rare, some of it is over priced. This is how I now make most of my neopoints, you really need at least 100,000 neopoints before risking the stock market since it can be risky and shares often take ages to go up in price. So, you need to have enough neopoints to be able to be fairly patient. When I started playing the stocks I had about 150,000 neopoints, and now I have 350,000 and I've been able to afford paintbrushes and a lab map etc. Not bad for five or six months. :) To play the Stock Market go here First ignore the advice that Nigel the Chia gives you, he talks rubbish. He does however get rich by taking 20 neopoints commision every time you sell any stocks, typical *grumbles* ;) You can buy up to 1000 stocks a day, it is best to buy either 500 or 1000 of one type of stock instead of buying smaller amounts of lots of different stocks. If you always buy 500 or 1000 then your stocks are easier to keep track of, and when your stocks rise in value you will make good profits. You cannot buy any stock valued at less than 15 neopoints. Never buy stocks which cost too much, the more you pay the more you might loose if the stock crashes. Remember some stocks end up crashing so badly that they are worth nothing and you loose permanently all the neopoints you spent buying them. Sounds risky? Well yes it is, but the rewards can be great. I never pay more than 20 neopoints for stock, and normally I only pay between 15 and 17 neopoints. Most stocks, even the ones that normally perform poorly, should hit at least 20 or 25 neopoints in value. So if you buy at 17 or less you can sell them for 3000 or 4000 profit. Doesnt sound like much? Well it isnt, but if you do that 20 times in a month then it soon adds up. And it is alot less time consuming than playing games or doing the shop restocks. Initially I made my neopoints by buying stocks at 15 to 17 and then selling them when they hit 20 to 25 in value. This is quite a low risk strategy, and a good way to begin on the stock market. Once you have more neopoints you can afford to wait and see if your stocks go higher. If you sell 1000 stocks at 5 neopoints profit then thats 5000 profit, do that ten times a month and you make 50,000 neopoints. To do this really well you need to have an idea of which stocks are the best buys. An Excellent site for this is Neodaq they have information on how every stock has performed and lots of usefull articles, and a forum. I decided what stocks to buy by checking the The Thumbnails on their site, now I can afford to occasionally take more risks. Initially I only brought stocks which had a good record of regularly reaching at least 25 in value. |
