This is mermaid cove, where the mermaids Aurora, and Iara love to sit on the rocks feeling the warm glow of the sun on their skin while seagulls hover overhead. Aurora is named for her love of the skies and the stars, an unusual thing for a mermaid to love. Aurora was born much nearer the surface of the ocean than most mermaids and the first thing she saw was the dancing ever changing colours of the reflections of the multi coloured stars as they touched the waves, a sight she has never forgotten and which enchanted her with its beauty. Often she will bask on the rocks of mermaid cove as the sun slowly sets, and the sound of her song will rise into the skies and drift across the mystic realms, and those who hear it will know that Aurora sings in the mermaid cove. The song of a mermaid is like the cry of a seagull, haunting in its beauty but with an elven magical feel to it, that touches the hearts of all those who hear it and tempts them to come to the seas and dance with the mermaids. Legend says that mermaids will tempt people with their siren song and lead them to a watery death in the deep oceans, but in the Mystic Realms, the mermaids only wish to play with the earthborn, as they call all not born in the shimmering oceans, and will never harm them. But only giggle at their clumsiness in the seas and then lead them back to shore in safety.

     The golden haired mermaid is Aurora's friend Iara, her name means Nymph of the seas. Iara is the daughter of Neptune, lord of the oceans and King of the Mer folk. Iara is the most beautifull of mermaids, her golden hair catches the light and gleams like true gold as she combs it with a mother of pearl comb. She has many suitors but so far no one has captured her heart, and she spends her days swimming and playing in the deep oceans with the fairy dolphins of the Mystic Realms. Often she can be seen riding on their backs, as they leap out of the waves and then dive back under the waters.

     Neptune, her father, is a kindly and wise ruler, ensuring that the oceans of the Mystic Realms are safe for all the inhabitants of the Realms, both earthborn and oceanborn. It is said that he has the ability to sense the truth of dreams and can even paint images of those dreams across the deepest parts of the seas for others to enjoy. As the waves surge and grow in power and energy so, Neptune has grown strong in wisdom and imagination. Some say that he is part in this world and part in the world of dreams, perhaps this comes from some magic power in the shimmering seas of the Mystic Realms.
