| My Home Page | This section is all about the secret lab map and the effects it has on my pets as I zap them with the lab ray. I will put pictures of all colour or species changes here, and will also list all stat changes, this will be the largest part of this section and new info will be added often. First I'd better tell you what the lab map is and what it does. :) The secret lab map lets you gain access to the lab ray, without the lab map you cannot use the lab ray. The lab ray can be used on any of your neopets, and has various effects on them. It can change their colour, species, or sex, which I guess could be quite a shock for some of your pets. ;) It can also change their stats, things like defence, speed, strength, hit points, this can be usefull if you like fighting in the battledome but remember the lab ray can lower stats as well as raise them. You can only use the lab ray once a day, and your neopets will protest or cry as you use it on them, some of them will even beg you not to do it, while tears run down their poor little faces. So you'll have to be hard hearted or have an evil cruel streak. ;) There are nine parts to the lab map, and you will need all of them to get access to the lab ray. At the moment, parts cost between 52,000 and 75,000 neopoints each. The total cost of buying an lab map using the shopping wizard is about 595,000. This seems expensive but think how much one paint brush can cost and how much fun you can have endlessly zapping your pets. *grins evily* :D You can buy lab map pieces on the shopping wizard, search for secret laboratory map, and check prices carefully to avoid being over charged. Some pieces cost more than other pieces so dont get ripped off. You can also get lab map pieces from the auctions, and from the trading post. Sometimes you can get a rare random event which gives you a lab map piece. If using trading post or auctions to get map pieces do thorough research on the shopping wizard first to avoid paying too much. The 9 different lab map pieces are not numbered or anything, and must be searched for using exactly the same words as each other, some are rarer than other pieces and so cost more. One way to avoid paying too much is to use the pictures below as a reference, (copy them to your hard drive if you wish ) and then list the prices people are charging by each one, so you get an idea of how much is a fair price. There are some colours that the lab ray does not do, although there have been very rare cases of people getting colours it is not meant to do because of temporary bugs or glitches. Imo the lab map should do all colours after all it costs enough, *grumbles* :( The colours which it is not meant to do are Pirate, Baby, Royal, Plushie, Usuki and Quigurki, however since some lucky people have had baby and pirate from the lab map it is possible that it can do these colours. In the case of Baby, according to what I have heard, this was a glitch which has now been fixed so it is very very unlikely that you would get baby from the lab map. There are also some colours which can only be got from the lab map, and which cannot be got from paint brushes. These colours are Robot, Mutant and Maleovolent Sentient Poogle. Also colours like Garlic Jubjub, and the "fruit" colours for chias can be got from the lab ray. Once you have all nine parts of the lab map, you will need to assemble them into an complete map. To do this go to Games, and then Puzzle games on the neopets site. Then click on treasure maps, and then on laboratory and then assemble the map. Once you have assembled the map, you can use the lab ray once each day on one of your pets, this is permanent, once each day forever. Once the lab map is assembled you cannot take it apart again, therefore it cannot be sold or loaned, once it is put together it is permanently assembled.
